Our Services

Aged Residential Care Facilities Personalised Physiotherapy

We pride ourselves in holding numerous Physiotherapy and Podiatry contracts with Aged Residential Care Facilities and Retirement Villages. At Body Solutions, our team members are trained to understand the complex ways in which ageing and pre-existing health conditions can affect an individual’s mobility, comfort, and physical performance. Our Physiotherapists take the time to get to know each resident - their goals, their challenges, and how their body responds to movement. We carry out thorough assessments to understand their functional abilities and identify any areas of difficulty that may need support. Together with the resident, and their family where appropriate, we then create a personalised physiotherapy plan tailored to their unique needs. This process is guided by realistic goal-setting, ensuring everyone is working together towards the same outcomes. These goals aim to support independence, ease discomfort or pain, enhance mobility and balance, and above all, improve quality of life. Our Physiotherapists also have expertise in neurological rehabilitation, supporting clients with significant deficits as a result of conditions such as a stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, dementia, and a traumatic brain injury.
In addition, we offer the following:
  • Assessment and fitting of orthotics, splints, and supports
  • Wheelchair and seating assessments
  • Referrals for radiological investigations, GP consultations, and
  • medical specialist reviews as required
All of our services are delivered on-site within the Retirement Village. We cover residents at rest home, private hospital, and dementia levels of care, as well as residents living independently within the Village. Body Solutions Physiotherapists work closely with families and the wider healthcare team - including GPs, NPs and RNs, occupational therapists, and clinical managers - to ensure each resident’s care is coordinated, compassionate, and effective

Manual Handling Training

At Body Solutions, we support and empower Aged Care facility staff to reduce the risk of injury to self and the residents in their care, through our comprehensive “Manual Handling Training program. Developed by our experienced team, this initiative is designed to provide staff with a clear understanding of safe manual handling principles and how to confidently apply them to the everyday challenges encountered whilst physically assisting residents. We recognise the wide range of roles across a Retirement Village, which is why our Manual Handling training is tailored to meet the specific needs of each role. We offer training for staff involved in the Moving and Handling of Residents (caregivers, nurses, Activivity coordinators, Diversial therapists etc). We also offer role specific Manual Training Programmes for, auxilliary staff (Housekeeping, laundry, kitchen, office /admin / reception). We recognise that Gardenening, maintenance and van driver staff have very different and specific Manual Handling challenges. At Body Solutions we proudly offer role specific training programmes for these staff. Sessions combine educuation, and risk management with practical, hands-on learning. Being relevant, staff find these sessions engaging and easy to apply. Our training covers 30 best practice manual handling techniques and strives to give staff the knowledge and confidence to integrate these practices into their daily tasks. With these techniques, staff are empowered to work more safely, and managers will see the tangible results - fewer injuries and a stronger safety culture.
Our goal is to help all staff feel confident and capable in using safe postures and techniques to carry out their daily tasks, promoting not only individual safety but a healthier and more supportive working environment overall.

Falls Prevention And Injury Reduction Program

In parallel with our “Moving and Handling” program, we offer a dedicated “Falls Prevention and Injury Reduction” initiative. Our Physiotherapists collaborate closely with clinical managers and the nursing team to identify residents at moderate or high risk of falling. These individuals undergo an initial assessment by our Physiotherapist to establish a baseline. Following this, a personalised exercise plan is developed for the resident. Over the following 12 weeks, residents engage in their structured exercise program under close Physiotherapist supervision. Outcomes include improved strength, balance, endurance, and mobility — and a measurable reduction in future fall risk.

Healthy Bones Program

Rounding out the training programmes is our “Healthy Bones” initiative, designed for village residents. Offered in either a group or one-on-one setting, the program focuses on improving bone density, lowering the risk of fractures, andsupporting muscle strength and mass.

Podiatry Service

Our Podiatrist Pilly Kang, has been with us for 10 years. Over this time his specialist interest has been aged care. We are partnered with a number of Aged Care Facilities covering the wider Auckland area. We strongly believe that maintaining foot health is essential as we age, especially when it comes to mobility, independence, and quality of life. Pilly provides expert care tailored specifically for older adults. Our Aged care focussed Podiatry service includes carefully trimming and filing toenails, treating common issues like thickened or ingrown nails with precision. We also provide regular foot care which helps prevent infections, protect the skin, and avoid wounds before they start.
For clients living with diabetes, we also offer specialised Podiatry services to manage the unique foot-related challenges that can arise. Our Podiatrist is also able to assess the need for orthotic supports which can improve balance, comfort, and movement.
Our overall goal is simple - to reduce pain, support mobility, and help every patient feel steady and confident on their feet.
